Olympiakos interested in Matt Nielsen

Olympiakos could be close to land Matt Nielsen.
The Greek team is in talks with the 32-year-old Australian forward, currently a free agent after spending last two seasons in Power Electronics Valencia.
Nielsen, who played in Greece for PAOK Thessaloniki in the 2004-05 season, averaged 8.8 points and 4.3 rebounds per game last season, and was named MVP of the last Eurocup Final Four. Fenerbahce was also reported to be interested in Nielsen days ago.

Latest news is Maric is heading to play for Turkish club Fenerbahçe ulker. He is also playing for the Boomers in the world championships too. Aussies will be strong in the tournament i am sure.

Thanks Nick. I thought Andersen was locked into the Rockets. It seemed like he had a good year in the NBA. Is he not happy there?

Nothing sure yet. Olympiakos is moving strong for David Andersen from the Rockets but no deal yet. Maric is a great player & all the big teams in europe want him. Panathinaikos is very close to Maric due to coach Obradovic (the most successful coach in the world exept NBA)& because they lost the basic center Pekovic who moved to the NBA). More soon...

For the next 2 years Matt is going to play for Olympiakos for $900000. Olympiakos last season reached the final of the euroleague but lost to Barcellona of Spain. In Greece the team is always second place behind Panathinaikos. Olympiakos is considered as one of the best teams in the world outside the NBA. Olympiakos is 2 times better than Valencia & Riga. Two days ago Olympiakos signed Spanoulis from Panathinaikos for the total of 13,5 million euros for 3 years. Next is Sato from Siena to move to the team.
